Greeting Members of Christ,
Greeting in the name of our risen Lord! This morning the Holy Spirit began to speak to
my heart concerning King David. What was it that made David such a great king? The
answer is simple, David always held his relationship with God above his kingdom. In
fact, his relationship with God was the all consuming factor of his life! Whether it was
tending the sheep of his father, or refusing to wear Saul’s armor when slaying Goliath,
David’s heart was toward the Lord. Whether it was dancing in the street of Jerusalem
with all his might, or in repentance of a grave sin when the Phophet Nathan was sent by
God, his life was totally abandoned to the Lord. In his abandonment to God, David
would refuse to touch the Lord’s anointed Saul who was in hot pursuit to taking his life.
Yes, we can see the heart of David when he writes Psalms 23:1, “The Lord is my

our heart is fixed trusting in God. He is forever faithful. Even at the breaking forth of
the Messiah the Christ, the Lord Jesus Himself was addressed with the desperate cry of a
blind man,” Jesus, thou son of David have mercy upon me” which reflects the high honor
and esteem held for this great King David. God himself would make David a promise
That His seed would forever sit upon his throne, even Jesus Christ our Lord! May we too
Have a heart after God, and may Jesus Christ in His Lordship forever reign within our
hearts.
